Cut from mahogany for appearance - but is very fragile. How do I glue it to a backer? Or should I frame it? Suggestions please.

Make your backer, then use a sheet of newspaper, laid flat on the bench. Spread a thin layer of glue on the newspaper, then press the work into the glue, then very, very carefully lay it on the backer and clamp. I use Allenes Tacky Glue because it dries clear, leaving no noticeable glue residue as white or yellow glues will do. I buy Allenes at Walmart or any craft store.

I would not use a backer. I would hang on a wall as is using a couple straight pins.

Beautiful piece Cathy.

Thanks Scott. The cross is really fragile. Just tell anyone who might buy it to be careful with it?

I would package it by sandwiching it between two pieces of cardboard. For extra protection you can also wrap in bubble wrap or in a bubble bag.
