Cleaning arkansas stone

hey guys -- gotta quick question: whats the best way to clean arkansas stones? i have one hard ark, one soft and an internet full of different solutions at my disposal, but i'd rather just cheat and lend an ear to one of you guys.

Kerosene and green scotchbrite pad.

I use Dawn and a scotchbrite pad.

I put my Norton oil stone in the dishwasher by itself with a double dose of detergent. Came out very clean. (don't tell Mary Ann...she'd have a fit:gar-Bi)
