Bookcase WIP and Stealth Gloat

Here is an update on my bookcase. I finally feel like I am making some progress. I designed it to fit into an otherwise unusable nook in our bonus room.

This project started in Feb 2008 when I had a Red Oak tree that was down in our yard cut into rough lumber. So roughly 1yr later here is where it stands.


Base cabinet carcass with doors (stealth gloat in the background).

I chose some of the nicer QS wood for the top, face frame and doors. I think it will come out nice in the end. Lots of things I would improve on if I had a second chance, but for my first large project I am pretty well pleased.

Coming along very nicely. I see the dust collector in the back round with oak chips it. Nice going. I see you are using pocket holes, I love pocket hole joinery.
