I have done a lot more turning than usual (for me) lately, and here are a few of my favorite results:

1. An aromatic red cedar plate/platter - about 10.5" diameter

2. A flame box elder piece - revealing a familiar shape. About 4" diameter and 3" high.

3. A spalted oak crotch piece - about 11" diameter

4. A challenging piece that needed some repair - piece of spalted maple (I think) piece

I really like the cedar plate the best, but all of them are great.

They all look great. Beautiful wood choices with interesting grains and figures. Like most the box elder. Great job!

Were you tempted to draw in the eyes and nose on that elder piece? :)

They all look great. I would be scared turning that last one that it would fly apart at me.

Sam - I was aware of the faults in that last piece. There were solid pieces of wood between the faults though, so I was cautious but fairly certain this would not fly apart.
