    Trouble with my SCMS

My first real saw purchase was a SCMS, because I thought that was what I needed, in the beginning. I was wrong and have made other purchases since. Anyway I bought a Kobalt 10" SCMS and now I can't get the blade 90 degrees to the fence. Help!

    Bosch 5312 SCMS $399

Just got back from Winston-Salem Klingspor on Hanes Mall Blvd. This is a 12" saw. They have one, possibly two, of these saws for $399. One is set up on the floor, the other, if it is there, is still in the box. I wasn't buying so I did not want to pester the salesman. Phone # is 336-768-9663

Clearance up to 83% off (Jet CMS) on tools

It's at CPO Central, which has spearate outlets for bosch, Delta, PC, B&D, Metabo and others. The organization is a little annoying; I can't find a page that identifies the best deals. You just have to go shopping for what you want and see if there is a deal. I went into the bosch store and it...

    Wip scms ras center

Well it seems like I haven't posted in awhile and with the recent threads on shop organization and what are you working on I thought I would throw this out here. Been working on this saw center on and off for the last few months. No nice hardwoods or fancy joinery but it has been a slow go to...

    Hitachi 10" SCMS: Amazon $338

Amazon has the Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser on sale for $338, about $90 lower then the price it normally hovers around. Not the biggest SCMS out there, but for some that's an advantage. Reviews are usually favorable. Quality is far better then the entry level...

    SCMS dust chute

This has worked for me for the past couple of years. Might work for you. Just a cut off ear of a cardboard box, half rolled and stuffed into the chute. Vac hose in the back. When it gets weak and falls out, stuff in another. I was reminded of this on Monday when one of them fell out. Thought I'd...

    Prototype Collapsible SCMS Dust Hood

As I have mentioned to some of you I have been working on this prototype collapsible SCMS dust hood for some time. I wanted something that was low cost, covered the rear of the saw in any orientation, and collapsed. I used some left over ½” ply and some 1” ply, some old piano hinges, one window...

    SCMS dust collection

Attached is a description of the dust collection system that I built for my Bosch sliding compound miter saw. It collects about 95% of the dust this thing creates and is cheap and easy to build. Comments?

    SCMS vs RAS

If you only had room for one tool which would it be the SCMS or the RAS? I know they serve different purposes in a woodshop but they do share a lot of the same functions. Thanks in advance for your advice!
