Curly Maple Root in action

A couple years back, I dug a sugar maple stump out of the ground in Alstead NH. Cleaned all the dirt off as best I could and slabbed the root system for possibilities. Eventually, it was dry enough to work. Here's the natural curve put to work. View image in gallery View image in gallery
