About 1.5" x 2.25" Turned end grain, AO and buffed. Yes the lid does have that "Pop" This was a small cut off from the bowl I turned for the Museum for Scott S.
This is the first time I tried pecan, Hard as a rock but I love the way it turns, get nice strings.
Any way I guess this turning is a cookie jar at least thats what my wife said it was.

This is a jewerly box that i made for my wife from some pecan and I think the other wood is dark poplar that I reclaimed from an old table that she bought at a yard sale. everything is from the table except the handle it a piece of scrap of maple that I had laying around...

Does anyone have experience air drying pecan? I have about 350 bf of 1 x from 6-18" by 8 feet. We sawed it last week and it is now stacked (with stickers) in a shed. Should we have it kiln dried? Does it check and warp a lot. Any advice would be helpful.
