    Project w/ Pics Veneer press

On my way down the marquetry rabbit hole I decided I needed a press to use when gluing the finished marquetry onto the substrate. I looked around a bit for one of those antique book presses, but they were just too expensive. I've always wanted a book press (maybe bookbinding is in my future)...

    A Box for the LOML

After making several small boxes to store various tools my wife informed me she also likes boxes. With her birthday coming up tomorrow this is what she's getting (hope she's not watching the forum). It's a small box to hold note cards for various occasions, including a small side compartment...

One thing leads to another (Final pictures)...

Disclaimer: This is a long post detailing the adventures of one who simply followed the next idea. A few years ago I decided it was time to build myself a real work bench. I did my research, collected ideas that I liked and eventually drew detailed plans of what I would build. Somewhere...

    Refurbished chest with marquetry

I want to show off a chest I repaired, refurbished, and refinished because I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I decorated it with some marquetry that I made using the double-bevel cutting technique. It is for a dog and cat rescue's charity auction.

My first humble attempts at marquetry

I picked up "Marquetry Course" with the intention of teaching myself the art of marquetry. This was my first project I completed other than a few practice shapes and stuff. I am generally pleased with the result. I kept it simple, just wanted to do my initials, found a font I liked, printed it...
