I received some antler from one of our gracious members here on NCWW, Mark Gottesman, and in return for his help I offered to make him a pen.
Mark likes fountain pens and he had a kit that he wanted turned. So here is the pen that I will be sending him.
It's out of lace wood with 15 coats of...
Well, WC sent me a new Cambridge Hybrid after I mentioned the poor quality of the one I currently have. I have to say just looking at the kit this one seems to have better platting and fit much tighter than the first one. I am very thankful to WC for sending this one out. I feel much better...

Not hard to do at all, and I even learned how to write with one. I've never wrote with one before.
Wood is african blackwood, cap is made out of antler.
I have a co-worker that wants a fountain pen turned me little old me. Having never even used one, much less turned one, I don't know what to look for in the kits. I see all kinds of kits from $10.00 to $100 for the kit, the nibs are made from materials I've never even heard of.
So what...
Anyone out there with experience of the Baron fountain pen kits? When I put together my first fountain, it had a pump with it. Umm... what's this for? Draining the nib if you want to change inks?
