Who has a chainsaw they don't use anymore?

Hey guys I'm in the market for a chainsaw and I'm hoping someone has one collecting dust. I would like to stick with a well known manufacturer, 20" bar and in decent overall condition. I'm trying to find that sweet spot between cost and quality. If anyone has any suggestions, warnings or...

    Home based Chainsaw mill questions

I am considering building a simple chainsaw mill at my house . First question; is there a way to have timber cut from personal wood stock at a saw mill and how expensive is this? Second is there an ideal size for chainsaw blade length? Or is it made to use.

    Chainsaw Bar Oil

I have been chainsaw milling a few logs lately and am running into a problem with the chains crudding up with resin/residue to the point they won't cut, and the sticky mess actually causes drag on the chain in the bar groove. The chains are still fairly sharp after cleaning, so the main loss of...

First time with my Chainsaw Mill.

Finally got something made with my Chainsaw Mill. I used an Oak log that was damaged in a storm and Reclaimed Barn Wood for the frame. Its alot smoother than it looks. The saw marks turned out cool. I donated it to a local elementary school for a silent auction they are having.

    Chainsaw sharpening advice needed

My saw is putting out a mix of chips and dust. It takes over a minute to get through a 10" oak log that had been standing dead for a few years. Perhaps my expectations are wrong, but that seems pretty slow. Last time I used it, I was cutting some smallish (6-8") freshly felled soft maple and...

    MS 170 Stihl Chainsaw

Looking at this saw. Don't do a lot of cutting, but want something relaible when I do. They go for about $180. Just wondering if that would be a good saw, or for a few more bucks, something a little bigger?

    Good Electric Chainsaw?

Is there such a thing as a good electric chainsaw ? I will just use it to cut pieces for the lathe. I know I wouldnt be able to take it in the woods but I dont really want a gas one.
