The coffee table top is cherry with lap joints holding tempered glass. The "bent wood" frame is actually thin laminated strips of clear hickory. I built a jig to taper the hickory strips by running them through a planer. Then built plywood jigs to glue and laminate the strips into curves. The thinner end of the tapered strips in the middle of the curves and the thicker part at the ends. The deck underneath is oak plywood, scored on the underside to make the curved shape. The larger curves supporting the table top are joined to the curved legs with a block of walnut to give the table the proper height.
