OK, ok... so another wand. :icon_cheers

So I had so much fun making the marblewood wand, I decided to make another. (Yes, Dan (dlrion), they are popular!)

...note to you guys who do fairs/shows: the Harry Potter thing may be slightly waning, but I suspect you could sell these easily at arts/crafts shows).

Spalted maple handle (thanks Rob) and reclaimed white oak shaft. Finished in CA. Length = 13"
(Oak was scrap from wood I bought from Scott Smith a couple weeks ago.)

So, the oak turned and sanded fairly unevenly. I decided to make it even more uneven.... making it look used and old (hard to see in photo). The powder post beetle holes added character, too. (Can only see a few in this photo; the other side had some bigger ones).

I wish I could get better lighting for photos. The wood (especially the spalting) looks soooo much better in person.

My first one (marblewood) for reference:

I'm pretty sure Hogwart's didn't have a band, much less an orchestra :rotflm:
Can you imagine people disappearing everytime the conductor hit a crescendo?!?!?!

Oh well, my humor is going from sophomoric to juvenile as I get older. Don't believe me; ask my wife.
