Since I've most of my "machine" work on a scroll saw, I put this post here.

Oh, I thought I was going places with my wooden grandfather clock. And I have another pattern right behind it for another clock. I have plans to build the marble tower featured in one of the catalogs that comes in the mail. I hope to buy the wooden dowel threading kit and build a few nuts and bolts from wood. I had all this inspiration for making mechanical things from wood.

Then, while surfing around for Mythbusters episodic material, of all things, I stumbled upon Dell and his amazing machine:

All wooden gears, chains, etc. not a metal part in the dang thing. I don't know whether to take it inspiration, or as a sign to toss all my woodworking tools in the back of the truck and have a sale.

Pfft...I see it as inspiration!

I saw that the other day. I don't believe I'll ever be precise enough to make any type of gears that work.
