The non-profit organization, Woodworkers Of North Carolina, or WONC, is conducting a benefit auction on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 6:00. The auction follows the Woodworking Showcase that is being held at Klingspor's Woodworking Shop on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh. WONC is seeking donations for the auction. We have already collected:

Some walnut lumber,
A complete Incra router table and fence system,
A large maple workbench top
Handplanes
Spray guns
Redwood slabs
Turning tools
....More.....

This is a chance for you to clean out your shop and get a tax deduction for your stuff. Contact Paul at the store for details. Then come to the auction for some good deals.

Also....There is still time for you to enter your work in the Showcase. There will be demonstrations, manufacturer reps on site and stuff on SALE. While your there, check out the new Gallery that will feature incredible work by North Carolina woodworkers. The Gallery is operated by WONC. Maybe you would like to join WONC and have a opportunity to exhibit and sell your work.

Re: Tool Auction

Where can I find more info on this group, Woodworkers of NC? No relation to NCWW?

Re: Tool Auction

WONC welcomes and encourages all woodworkers of North Carolina to join, participate, and exhibit in the Gallery. The Gallery was founded by Rodger Barrow who was a wood supplier in Zebulon. His dream was for WONC to grow into a large group that could receive corporate sponsorship to locate a gallery and educational center in downtown Raleigh.

The WONC Board of Directors decided to start on a smaller scale. A very kind offer from Klingspor's Woodworking Shop allowed WONC to lease a small space in their Raleigh store.

Now that the Gallery is about to open, WONC intends to focus on ways to support fellow woodworkers and those that just wish to learn more about the craft. So please join us and come check out the Gallery. There is nothing like it anywhere in the state.
