Anyone making this trip anytime soon? If so I humbly request transport of a No 3 plane :).
I work in RTP if that is easier.

I am also going to the marking gauge workshop on the 1st.
The plane is at MarkE's shop.
Thanks!

Not to be a smartie-pants, but why not put it in a $6 flat-rate box and mail it. USPS will even deliver door to door in two days for that. Less than the cost of 2 gals of gas.

That is probably where we will end up. But it doesn't hurt to try. I have been involved in some of pony expresses and it usually turns out to be a nice thing to do for someone and I often get to meet a new WW or visit a new shop :).

A No.3 sized plane will not fit in a small flat rate box. Even if it is taken apart. There has to be enough room in the box to allow for padding, bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc.

Salem-
USPS make a thing called a "regional box" you have to order them on-line but they are REALLY cheap especially shipping a light thing a short distance (regionally)

Am I missing something? But, isn't this only a 15 to 20min drive from Apex? Not trying to be a smartie pants.
