White Oak Burls / Bowls

WOW... You cannot believe how hard these were. The burls were cut by a friend in NY a couple years ago . I had a chance to pick them up earlier this summer. Both are White Oak but are very different.

Nice work Dan!

I turned a white oak burl that had been dry for a dozen years and it was like turning concrete. I bent a Sorby scraper on it. I do like the look of that burl though.

Sizes...Both are approximatley 8 inches across. The one is 3 inches tall and the other is a little over 6 inches
