New blade for my old shave.

The back is almost perfectly flat out of the box. This is just a few strokes on a fine stone.

It is quite a bit thicker than the Stanley. I actually had to file to mouth of the shave to let the blade cut

It comes sharp and ready to hone. Just a few strokes on 600 and then fine Arkansas stone had it popping hair.

Smooth fine shavings are easy but a thick cut may require more file work on the mouth. The blade really is thick and stiff.

Yup. That's why you pay the big bucks for a Veritas or LN and why, being basically cheap, buy Taylor and spend the time to flatten the backs. :)

The Veritas and the Hock are nearly the same price. I really like PMV-11 so I went with the Veritas. They are the same thickness too.
