When a member first joins our site, they are in a restricted state, and cannot start conversations (dm, pm), nor can they create posts in the For Sale forum. The requirements to move to a normal user is a waiting period of 30 days and a minimum of 5 posts by their account. Once both of these are met, a script executes overnight updating the status.
When a normal user account does not log in for 30 calendar days, the same script resets the status back to new user. While in the New User status, the same restrictions listed above are in force. Once a login has been made, the last accrued status is returned following the overnight script execution. So, the next day, the user can post as before.
