My grandsons had a chance to visit Michael Mathews at his shop yesterday and make some lightsabers. They really enjoyed themselves and had a chance to experience the patient tutelage of Michael as he walked then through the wood turning process. I was impressed by what they were able to come up with on their first try.

Thank you Michael for sharing your shop and your time.

Matt, Anne, and boys.

The light sabers are cool and I see this as a project for a young man at our church that wants to learn woodworking. How was the red "beam" done?

It is red PEX tubing, we typically use 1/2" PEX at our Outreach events

Wally, it's simply made up of a piece of wood turned on the lathe with a predrilled hole in the handle for a Harbor Freight flashlight stuck inside. The Red is Pex tube.
