Tool Identification - specialty pliars

Does anyone know the name of this tool or the intended use?

They look like blacksmith tongs. Smiths tend to make dozens of these, each with a different configuration depending on the intended task. As to the specific task of these tongs I'll leave that answer to any blacksmiths who are on the forum.

They were in with some tools that belonged to my great grandfather. He was a Carpenter. Maybe he did some blacksmithing too.

They also had renters above their dry good store so no telling who may have been living there and left something behind or traded.

I think this.... They look awful short for blacksmith tongs. Would singe your hand pretty good using those for such. That said, I have made several shorter tongs for smaller work. I can use them blacksmithing, they just arent NEAR as comfortable to use as full sized tongs. That forge gets HOT.
