After the table was built I had to make a couple side chairs for the table. Looking carefully at the legs, you can see a difference in design. The curly leg is from some stock left over from a longrifle project and it is featuring the wood grain.. The other chair is one I favor- a Rhode Island stle legs with a twist in shape. They were like the NY legs but a turner decided to shape the bottom like a "sheet stay peg" from a ship's gunwales. Innovative for the time. Headed back to the coast of Maine in July for some fresh lobster.
