Store bought metal bench legs and wood movement

These prefab bench legs seem to be very popular on Amazon.
My question is how they allow for wood movement.
It seems like they should have a slot or oversized hole and rubber washer for the screws.
Does anyone have experience with these?
Thanks

You can elongate the holes yourself if that’s a concern. However if you are using these in an environment that is conditioned you probably aren’t going to see that much movement. That is predicated on where you are in the world and the true conditions.

Thinking about using them for a bench on a screened in patio, so they would essentially be outside.
I was thinking of enlarging the hole and using rubber washers.

I was thinking of enlarging the hole and using rubber washers.
And that’s perfect

Doesn’t that just take away from the fun you can have making them out of wood?😉

Another alternative is to use a screw that is 1/16" smaller than the diameter of the hole. i.e. if the hole is 1/4", use a screw that is no more than 3/16". Use a washer and tighten the screw as you normally would.

I'll bet if you just enlarge the outside holes the movement will be accommodated if your grain is running long ways.
