I just saw this logo on a plane on eBay. This is the first time I have seen this logo...

The tool has other characteristics of a SW era plane (somewhere between type 13-15 due to the embossed lever cap). Here's a link to that auction. So... what's the story behind that logo? Was this a different tier in the Stanley product line at the time?

I have alway been under the impression that logo was for a "lesser" line, like Handyman was, but I may be way off base, just a guess. I have often seen it on gray planes and see the term "household" thrown around, which led me to think that.

Like on this page, search on "four square" and you'll see some.
