Stabilizing Acorns

Has anyone tried stabilizing acorns with cactus juice or similar? I'm picking up a vacuum chamber next week to attempt this. I'm wondering if the cactus juice will permeate the nut/fruit part. I may try poking a small hole in some as a comparison. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I would think the moisture in the nut would be too high to be stabile.
I agree. It would probably take dehydrating them and that's likely going to make the meat of the nut separate from the walls of the inside of the nut. Might be problematic for turning unless you can fill that void.

Epoxy is expensive and makes a mess when you turn it. FOG wood(found on ground) is not hard to come by. There are new sources of free wood every night on Facebook, just pick some species you want to work with and be patient...It will show up as free wood eventually.
