Spalted Maple ?

Had some trees removed this past summer and saw this log on the woodcutters trailer when he pulled up.
After he finished my job. I saw that this was tossed into the ditch, like they just pitched it there.
Didn’t think nothing of it at first, ditch is an overgrown patch of woods and log disappear in there any way.

Today I take the saw and cut it up.

Guessing it’s Maple..

Either way, it’s getting chucked up in my new Revo ! !

Looks like it to me. Gorgeous stuff, it will be fun to turn.

And heartbreaking when a nice part gives out and breaks, but god made glue for a reason...

Looks like its starting to get punky in spots. Hard to make smooth.
