Turned these this morning. Most will be given to my co-workers, some will be given to my wife's friends. It only took a few hours to turn them, as I had the wood set aside already.

Most of them are cherry, a few are spalted red maple, two are purple heart, and one is some stinky mystery wood that smells like dog poo. (I think I know who I will give that one to.) :evil:

Anyway, was a fun easy project this morning, and I am glad it is done.

And a few hours, wow that is some fast work right there with Great Results~!

The bottle stoppers have a threaded rod in them, that you screw into the wood. The mandrel that you use on the lathe is necked down to the same diameter as the bottle stopper, so when you get to that diameter they will match. Once turned, and finished, I put epoxy in the hole that I used to mount them to the lathe, and screwed them on the bottle stopper.
