Soliciting advice on a workshop expansion.

I have 20 4 foot 4 bulb lights in my basement. I am buying the 120 volts direct (no Balast) bulbs and replacing as needed.
So far have the shop and half the other spaces done. Makes a big difference.

I did what Mike is doing (direct wire), but if you don't want to cut out the ballasts, you can get direct LED replacements.

If you decide to keep the ballasts check to see that your ballast is the newer type that is capable of running LED bulbs.
And be aware you will use a tiny bit more electricity to run the ballast, that's why I got the direct 120V type. I was going for maximum power savings.
