Sofa table finally finished

I saw a similar design of this table and thought it would be neat to build.
I think it looks like a road or bridge. I did something different on the top.
My interpretation is the top is an urban landscape, supported by the “bridge”.
The top has roads, roads under construction, dirt roads with a gate that leads down to a farm house with a pond and green field, etc.
The main wood is bees wing eucalyptus and the secondary is Red Grandis, which complemented the eucalyptus very well. The top is sapele.
It’s big, just what I wanted to pile stuff on.

Very creative, I love that you had a vision and made an interpretation of it. You’re not going to find one like this at Furnitureland South.

I forgot to mention an important feature. It “knocks down”. I figured that it would be too difficult to move since it is heavy. The bases are 3/4 BBplywood and very heavy, hence stable.
The lower shelf and upper superstructure are joined to the base with French cleats . The top sits on 10 brass pins and can be removed.
So, with no tools I can break it down to 5 pieces- 2 bases, shelf, support structure and top.
