For years I've been wanting to grow mushrooms @ home. Any shoom growers here that can tip me? I have ideal conditions in a easy accessible area under the house or the shop. How do I get started? I'm looking to grow the legal kind that goes in salad and on steaks - not the kind that'll make you trip.

Thanks

Just keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em manure.....

Seriously, years ago I mailed away for a kit and they grew great under the steps in my basement up north.

Check out this site. The extension office in Dobson - Surry County - is doing a seminar on growing mushrooms soon. But, that may be too far for you to drive.
