Grizzly vs. Jet vs. Tormek.

using a slow speed grinder versus a 6" or 8" variable speed (delta, Porter Cable etc.)

yea, but it got me there - funny, though, not a lot of reviews on it.

You would think for some that seems to work for 1/2 the price or less than alternatives would have REALLY good or REALLY BAD reviews...

LOML gave me the Tormek T3 for Christmas. I thought about sending it back and getting the Grizzly to get the 10" vs 8" wheel. I decided to keep it. It really works great.

A couple of observations:
With the T3 you cant use the universal support and square edge jig with the leather honing wheel. Honing is by hand and eye.
The Tormek accessories (rotating base, stone grader, truing and dressing tool) are ... pricey.
The Tormek square edge jig is cast aluminum, the Grizzly is stamped steel. Not sure if that makes a difference in use.
The Tormek universal support has the 'micro-adjust' feature which is great. No micro-adjust on the Grizzly. The Tormek universal support will not fit the Grizzly.
The Grizzly universal support can be used on the larger leather wheel.
I have read a few reports that say that most of the Tormek accessories can be used on the Grizzly.
