yah ours is the 34-802 with a 48" fence

its really the holding down and cutting of the thin strips that has me concerned about the guidelines we have a guard with a splitter and anti-kickback grips but im taking it off to cut thin strips then putting it back on. it just feels like there has to be a better way.

For thin strips I do remove the guard but replace it with the riving knife and use a Grrripper to move the piece through the blade. The side of the guard is about 1/2" so anything less the 3/4" you can't get a push stick between it and the fence. The Grrripper has a 1/8" wide hold down slide so with it I can cut as close to the fence as about 3/8".

The other alternative for thin strips is a sled.
