The first beta release of vbulletin 3.7 has been announced and discussions have started You guys probably should take a look becuase we'll want to discuss if when when we will upgrade.

Some of these new features look terrific. Some of them answer challenges we have today.

Just a few (first impression thoughts...
  • the User-Created Social Groups would help geographically collocated members to meet more often (TWA members, Greensboro area members, etc). Maybe these should be set up by admins only at the request of members
  • Thread Tagging should enable folks do some "data mining" to find hints, tips techniques, war stories, etc.
  • Thread Prefixes looks like another terrific tool to help members find the stuff they are interested in. I think we should work to keep the number of prefixes VERY small. These would get cumbersome with a long list of choices.
  • Inline Spam Management and Prevention tools looks great... and can probably be used to control more than just spam.
This looks like a nice version coming up.
