Hello! Thank you for allowing me into your forum! I am a homeschooling SAHM who has lived in Cary for over 30 years. I have a passion for historically correct mouldings and find beautiful wood to be pretty yummy, too My husband has made raised panel bookcases, did all of the walls in the foyer with raised paneling and a hidden door, and made vanities that look like antique dressers or washstands. Our usual modus operandi is that I research and draw what I want on graph paper, he draws it in SketchUp with reality thrown in (such as support considered), we go back and forth a couple of times, and then he makes it!
My main reason for joining your forum at the moment is that I am looking for someone to carve about 10' of egg-and-dart for our dining room mantel, with acanthus leaves at the corners so we don't up with the "butt cheek" effect. I called the new Rockler in Crossroads and they suggested I would probably find someone here.
Thanks again for having me,
Alicia
