Never ran a floor sander before

Starting on some plywood is an excellent idea. I used a floor sander to do the pine floors in my parents loft in the log house they built years ago - when I first started it I made a minor mess because I didn't know what to expect, but after that initial mistake the rest went easy enough.

i probably should have stated, that if you use a piece of plywood to try your hand at the floor sander. it should be big enough for you to stand on as well. like a 4x4 piece. the last thing you want is to get your ankles taken out by a flying piece of ply. haha
