it seems like i'm not the only one that stares at the narrow spokeshave blades that come in a Caleb James shave or the "make your own" kits by various outlets.
if there is No microbevel, then i can make do setting the blade on the bevel and use the elbow grease to sharpen. not the most fun but totally doable.
one of mine had a microbevel. that was more problematic. I don't do a ton of free hand sharpening and to make this more complicated, the blade is so small. Its too narrow to use in my various sharpening jigs.
so i made a sharpening jig that uses rare earth magnets and a little pocket to hold the blade. I used 1/8 plywood to keep it all low profile. this held surprisingly tight onto the little blade.
then i attached the roller from my Veritas honing gauge. it worked pretty well.
