Last September on vacation I found a log in the sand near our hotel near the waters edge. I had no way of knowing if it was rotten or not but I placed it on the balcony and when we packed up, I put it in the back in the family van.
I brought it home and let it dry for about a month before cutting off one end on my Bandsaw to see what I had to work with. The grain was beautiful!
I then packed the log back up and took it to my buddy Sam @knighthood_creations and he milled it down for me on his industrial @grizzlymachines Bandsaw.
I brought the pieces home again and let them dry until early February where I then got an idea.
The Skyline of Myrtle Beach!
I quickly got a design in @lightburnsoftware and cut a small piece to drop into my @longer.global Ray5 20 Watt Laser Engraver.
It only took around 15 mins and I had a beautiful piece of driftwood art!
Not bad for a free log I found on the coastal shores of the city I love.
