A buddy of mine was hired to take down a Monkeypod tree. The tree was 150 yrs old +/-

Monkeypod is part of Acacia family and a relative of the Koa Tree. It is about as hard as oak and has a white-ish to all brown color depending on the age and area where the wood was cut out of the tree.

Anyway, I did get a couple of the 11-12 " dia. branches ... cool. However, he did send me the picture of the of the Base of the tree where the crotch was......

.... make an awesome live edge something (not into live edge stuff)

Beautiful ............ just beautiful. This is about 65-70 inch across

One of my favorite woods to turn because of the color variations. That piece is beautiful. It looks to be at least 4" thick. It's going to be someone's dining room center piece.

David, I have seen it in California. The tree itself is originally from Central and South America. It was no where near the size of this.

They are pretty sturdy/robust trees, but my guess if an area gets too cold to long, that would be limiter
