While cutting some white oak 4x4 table legs down to size I had a kick back.
I was on the last one. They are too thick to cut in one pass, so I was pushing the first cut thru to clear the blade and then sliding it to the left to bring it back for the final cut.
On the last one, instead of sliding it over, I just started bringing it back thru the blade. I Have no idea why, other than I just wasn't thinking.
The board got my arm pretty good, but I'm otherwise okay. It thru the 30" long 4x4 back about 8 feet onto the wall. The cut you see is damage it sustained on the way back out. The original cut was clean. Maybe I slide it over some, just not enough before bringing it back.
Anyway, stay safe out there and stay focused. It only takes a second.
