I'm looking for decent sized cherry or maple burl caps. My stock has been depleted over the past few months. These blanks will need to be large enough for 12" to 16" hollow forms. I've checked with my local sources with no luck so far. Thanks for any leads. :thumbs_up

Don't know if this will help, but I had an old maple get topped by a storm this fall...lots of burls. I have just been too busy to get it out of the woods. The tree is still standing and will take a little effort to get it down and out to a clearing (not real bad though). I plan to do some burl bowl turning this year and would be happy to share some of these if you think they are appropriate.
Sorry about the photo orientation...the white thing is a large glove about 9" long for size reference.

PM me if you are interested.

My area is covered up with cherry burls, but I have never seen a maple burl in the woods. I have two cherry burls in the shop now that I need to cut up for blanks.
