Latest Amazing Project From My @longer.global Ray5 20 Watt Laser Engraver.
A Totally Radical Surfboard Beach Scene!
The design is from @etsy and I loaded the file into @lightburnsoftware and dialed in my settings.
I used thin material from @buildersdiscountcenter and my laser setting to cut it were;
Speed 300, Power 86%, and 1 Pass with Air Assist On.
Before loading the plywood into the laser, I pre sanded it with 180 grit @klingsporswoodworkingshop sandpaper.
It took around 30 minutes to cut out the 6 layers that make up the beach scene.
After some touch up sanding I painted everything with basic acrylic craft paint and when it dried I carefully glued the layers together with @thegorillagluecompany and spring clamps (this gave me time to make sure everything was lined up properly)
After the glue dried overnight and I double checked all the painted areas, I gave the surfboard a finish with several coats of @rustoleum clear gloss and when that dried, the project was complete!
A fun tropical project to get in the mood for summer! The file can be enlarged or even made smaller depending on your needs and with the thickness of all the layers, the surfboard stands freely on it's on.
Swipe to see all pics and surfs up dudes and dudettes!
