Laser etch 1095 steel

I need some 1095 steel etched for a project I've been asked to do. I'm not sure if it's even possible, but if anybody can answer a few questions please let me know.

The gun shop near me does etching on barrels, they should be able to do what you need. I'm sure there is someone closer though.

I have 3 different types of lasers (IR, Diode, CO2). Sorry no fiber (yet).
What kinds of questions?

I do have a fiber laser and can do metals. What do you have in mind?
