Tried a little something different this time. The Shoppe Widow wanted a new knife block so I figured I had nuttin' to lose by trying :gar-Bi I asked her for her favorite knifes so I could customize it and I went to the shop. No plans, really, just an idea of how to approach it without using dadoes and such.

Not nearly as fancy as Mike ( wdkits1 ) makes but it was challenging and I'm pretty happy with the end result . Most of all The Shoppe Widow is thrilled and I'll take that any day :icon_thum It really helps having a table saw that will cut a straight line :gar-La;
Sapele and oak finished with Mylans and rattle can Deft lacquer

Thanx for lookin' :D

Turning things sideways seems to have worked well. As long as moma is happy everyone is happy.

Great work.

My favorite knife block is turned like that. It works well.

Yours looks great and should last a long time. Probably longer than the knives.

Nice work there Robert!

Great blend of material color but I can't tell the variety. Mahogany or sapele and yellowheart?

Inquiring minds............
