i learned on an old shopsmith... so i learned to turn backwards.... had to do things backwards to make any sort of cut... chased it around the yard for yeard then found the club that meets in hickory... at klingspor..... then i learned so much by goinging to the meetings.. now im a life member and on the board.... the bestt thing i have done to help me improve was buy a real lathe the powermatic 4224.... a little jump i know....
