High Dew Point Alert!

Charlotte area dew point is at 59f. The metal surfaces in my shop are ~48f. If I were to open my shop to take advantage of the 60f temps outside without heating the equipment above the dewpoint it would condense water vapor and cause rust. Leave the outside air outside!

I just checked and the current dew point in Raleigh is 37°F on one website and 60.8°F on another

Learned that the hard way a few years ago…. Spent a Saturday morning wiping water off every metal surface ……. Then re-waxing everything…. Keep the door closed!

This weekend was horrible. Went in Saturday and all metal surfaces looked like the outside of a iced tea glass. Spent the day applying wax and setting up a dehumdifier in the shop.
