I just cam across the weirdest problem.
I use fusion 360 mostly and I’ve used solid bodies as a cut limiter (sectional selector) when cutting a mesh STL file.
I have been fighting with an stl that I created in Meshcam v8. It’s a picture that I want just an oval section of the picture.
I tested the file and it produces a 3d cut file which I can see. But when I go back and assign the sectional profile from a solid body to the cut it only produces a flat non 3d oval cut. I’ve tried everything under the sun to fix this but no luck. The only way was to manually edit the STL file to erase all outside of the oval but it’s choppy and doesn’t let ok good to me.
Any help would be appreciated!!!
