After determining the price for a Shelix cutterhead for my "Rockwell" 8" Jointer that ended up really being a Jet 8" Jointer, I am thinking of selling off the Jet 8" Jointer and simply buying a Hammer A3 31. Ironically, I would have never known the jointer was a Jet if not for wanting the Shelix head after talking to woodworkers at the Charlotte show. Anyway, do any of you have any experience with the Hammer A3 31 Jointer/Planer?
My shop is rather small and this looks like one way to get rid of two tools for one, and even perhaps my Powermatic 719T hollow chisel mortiser if I get the mortising attachment for he Hammer A3 31. Any experiences would be appreciated.
