A wise man once told me "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" Do a Google search to find out why some people boycott P&G. Then draw your own conclusions.

That's all I'm saying in this heated topic.

I saw a program last night on UNC-TV. The Gambles were part of Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. They hired the Greene brothers, also from Cincinnati, to design and build their second home in California.

The film showed the Greene & Greene design touches throughout the home and it later became Greene & Greene "Arts & Crafts" furniture.

My wife and I visited the Gamble House during a recent trip to California. The house has been maintained close to its original early 1900's appearance. The craftmanship of the home and the furnishings is superb. Regardless of the behavior of the company today, in the early 20th century the Gambles had an appreciation for design and spent some of their fortune employing talented architects and craftsmen. The house is owned by the City of Pasadena and is operated by the University of Southern California. The P&G Company has no involvement in the ownership or operation of this architectural treasure. I highly recommend a visit if a journey takes you through Pasadena. Also drive the surrounding streets to see other examples of period architecture.
