Ok my finishing schedule:
Sand to 120.
I filled the holes with CA then 2-part epoxy.
I sanded top to 240, 180 on bottom.
I filled the grain on top with Behlen's per directions on can (using the reducer and filler)
I mixed Rock Hard Table Top Varnish 1 part finish 4 parts VMP Naptha and put two seal coats tops and bottom with a 240 scuff to knock down the nits and bubbles.
Went to a 1:2 mix and built 3 more coats on bottom and 4 on top with 300 scuff.
After the top has sufficient thickness of coat, I sand with 400 by hand with a backer pad. Purpose is to knock down the thickness inconsistencies and smooth out the top.
I put another 1:3 coat and use 400 to knock down any small nits or bumps.
I then apply 3 coats of Clear Paste Wax (some call it Bowling Alley Wax, but it's Carnauba Wax Paste) and polish with a high speed buffer to produce desired shine and consistent coat.

That's pretty much it, nothing fancy.

For the rest of the table, it got 2 coats of 1:4 and 2 coats 1:2, same scuffing, left the last coat as is, no wax.
