Saw this tip on the Fine Homebuilding site here:
http://www.taunton.com/finehomebuilding/how-to/video/cutting-rigid-insulation.aspx

This video probably won't be live for a long time so here's a discription:
Take a 2" putty knife and sharpen one of the sides with a grinder, file, stone, etc. Use a straight edge along the line and the putty knife follows it. I've tried utility knives and they wander off the line, serrated bread knives make a mess and leave a rough edge. This works!

Thanks Mark, I remember that hassle well from when I insulated the overhead door in the shop. :wsmile:

Great tip. And to think that I have been using my circular saw to cut the 2" foam that I am installing in my shop. Oh well live and learn but the circular works good but it takes just a little more time to set up the straight edge. Steve :rotflm:
