Just finished the pepper mill I started a while back. I used cherry and a pepper mill kit from Woodcraft. The mill hardware has a black finish to designate it contains pepper. I will turn a duplicate and use chrome for a salt mill.
I turned it using Easy Woods mini finisher and mini rougher with their beading cutter.
Finish is 3 coats of garnet shellac and then 3 coats of spray on polyurethane. First time mixing the shellac myself. Had a bit of a learning curve applying the shellac. But didn’t come out too bad for my first attempt at using shellac.
I have to give a shoutout to Graywolf and Bowman for their advice on using shellac.
